
According to the District Attorney’s Office, a Chester County man was convicted in 2022 of killing both his girlfriend and a lady who was expecting his unborn son.
The jury heard testimony during the six-day trial that explained how Mamadou Kallie shot and killed pregnant Kimberly Ortiz-Zayas on May 29, 2022, after killing his girlfriend Tiara Rodriguez-Diaz in front of their one-year-old son, according to officials.
Three counts of first-degree murder and further accusations were brought against Kallie.
Kallie is charged with killing two women in 2022
On May 29, 2022, at approximately 9:21 p.m., police were called to a domestic altercation between Mamadou Kallie and Tiara Rodriguez-Diaz in the 300 block of Mount Pleasant Street in Coatesville.
According to the criminal complaint, Rodriguez-Diaz informed police that everything was OK while they were in a Toyota Corolla with their 22-month-old child in the backseat.
According to investigators, Kallie grew irritated when Rodriguez-Diaz was questioned by police. According to authorities, he then left the Toyota Corolla and entered a black Ford Edge.
Rodriguez-Diaz drove away with their child in the backseat as the responding officers concluded their conversation with them, and the police cleared the area.
In Valley Township, police were called to a collision and gunfire in the 300 block of East Glencrest Road thirty minutes later. One witness claimed seeing a black SUV leaving the scene, while another told police she heard nine gunshots.
Rodriguez-Diaz was then discovered by police with several gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Corolla. Shortly after being brought to Paoli Hospital, she was declared dead.
Additionally, investigators discovered a blood trail leading from Kimberly Ortiz-Zayas’s body on the side of the road to the front passenger door of the Corolla. At the scene, she was declared deceased.
The pregnant Ortiz-Zayas was five months along.
Investigators discovered a blood-stained cell phone on the center console, as well as fired cartridge shells both inside and outside the vehicle. However, Rodriguez-Diaz’s youngster was not in the Corolla.
West Chester Police were called to a reported carjacking near Rt. 162 and Telegraph Road in East Bradford Township at 10:45 p.m. that evening. When a gunman, identified by detectives as Kallie, showed up in his black Ford Edge, a man informed police he was detailing his black Infiniti around the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Then, Kallie allegedly got into the victim’s Infiniti, asked him for a change of clothes, and gave him instructions to drive to Philadelphia.
According to the victim, he and Kallie were acquainted before the incident.
“Go, bro. According to the criminal complaint, Kallie told the man, “I just killed someone.”
In East Bradford Township, Kallie is accused of ordering the victim out of the car while he was driving and pointing a gun at his head before escaping the scene.
There was a police chase after responding officers discovered the stolen Infiniti.
At 11:04 p.m. same evening, Kallie was next pulled over in Caln Township. According to investigators, he got out of the vehicle while keeping a gun to himself.
Following negotiations with the police, Kallie quietly turned himself in and was arrested at 11:41 p.m. According to the criminal complaint, police found a Taurus G2C 9mm handgun with a live round in the magazine and one in the chamber.
Additionally, police reported seeing crimson streaks on Kallie’s clothes that seemed to be blood.
Kallie’s black Ford Edge was later found by Coatesville Police close to the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
Later, the 22-month-old child of Kallie and Rodriguez-Diaz was discovered in Coatesville with family members, unharmed. After shooting the two ladies, investigators think Kallie took the child out of the car.
