ROMULUS, Mich. – Recently, Detroit Metro Airport opened its first 24-hour retail location.
The McNamara Terminal is home to Corktown Place, a retail that opened on February 21, 2025.
In addition to a Pure Michigan boutique with Detroit brands and Michigan-made goods, it provides tourists with news and convenience items.
Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Chad Newton stated, “We are thrilled to open our first 24-hour news and travel store, which is a direct response to feedback from our customers.” “Our customers now have access to reading materials, travel essentials, snacks, and—most exciting of all—food, clothing, and gifts made right here in Detroit and throughout our wonderful state, no matter the time of day.”
The store launched as part of the transition of the McNamara Terminal Concession Program and is run by Paradies Lagardère.
According to Patrick Wallace, Vice President of Business Development for Paradies Lagardère, “Corktown Place is more than just a store—it’s a celebration of the historic neighborhood’s unique character and charm.” We are happy to provide travelers using the Detroit Metropolitan Airport with this fantastic retail choice. Our partnership with Pure Michigan and our efforts to highlight well-known regional companies like The Mitten State, Cherry Republic, and the Kalamazoo Candle Company demonstrate our commitment to giving tourists unique, locally relevant experiences.
According to the airport, this concession transfer will bring two video game lounges, six eateries, and twelve retail businesses.
According to DTW, these new locations will open over the course of the following two years when the existing concessions contracts come to an end.
